nvm:) I found the other comments on the post with both versions.
Hi Michael! I thought I had already replied to your last comment but I don't see it. It seems like some other comments are also missing. Strange. Anyway, I like the mood the "new" version gives and love grays with yellows, but as many of the other comments (not sure where they are) stated, the blue sky reminds them of a crisp autumn day and since that's what I was feeling when I painted it I'm going to keep it like that and do another with the grayed sky. Thanks so much for your input!
Thank you Dr Chan!:)
Very colorful and artistic. Well done Jennifer!
So how did you like the new version? I think the toned down sky gives the tree more emphasis. There is no competition between the saturated sky and saturated tree. Your tree now stands alone as the focal point and star as it is now the most intense color, lightest light, and most interesting shape.
Thank you Silvana!
Thanks Michael.:)
Beautiful!
Either way Jennifer ..just so something is more neutral BEHIND the tree ..too show it off more. It could be the shadowed part of a puffy cloud, or it could be a grayer blue, or slightly overcast day ...The shadowed part of a cloud ..as the backdrop ...and some deeper blue/violet sky at the top would be my choice. I agree, I would not mess with this painting ...I hate messing with completed paintings!! ...try it with some quick color sketches.
