30 X 20in. oils on stretched canvas.

We were travelling through the centre of the South Island, New Zealand in winter and were dazzled by the bright orange plants against the brilliant blue lake and surrounding grey/brown foliage. It was certainly worth a photo stop.

It is a scene I have been wanting to paint for a while and thought it might fit into this Workshop 17.

The burnt sienna colour is not nearly so noticeable in my painting as it is in this photo.

Thanks Linda & Michael. Yes Michael - the like button seems to be getting pushed a bit early in the months, but maybe it is by those not doing the workshop.
