Craig, an excellent idea.

BTW, I did knock the foreground back with a glaze and fjollowed Michael's suggested colour adjustment. Both improved the final result.

Thanks.

Hi Stephen , just reading this again , another time before you try to make any correction or adjustment a friend suggested to me , to put a clear sheet over top the painting and paint your adjustment , then if you like it you can do it for real!

Craig, thanks for your input.  I think I'll try your suggestion out as a glaze,  Hey, if I prefer it as it is, I'll just wipe it off before it dries.

Hi Stephen , I have been reading all the comments , beautiful painting have to agree your mid foreground is a little bright , you could probably just wash over it with your mist.

Thanks Catherine, I plan on using Michael's colour suggestion to try and sort out the yellow issue.

I like it just the way it is.   My only thought, the foreground green highlight colour is a bit too yellow.   Other than that, I like it !

Hi Stephen .. I most certainly can relate to your last statement!!!! ...  I have trouble doing that myself.  Richard recommended to me one day that I add a hint of a river in one of my paintings ... I did not do it because I really need to see it in person .. if I make it up, it is always a disaster!!! ... Happy painting, my friend!! :)

Thanks Michael.  I was thinking about thickening up the far mist and fading down the distant trees anyway, so I'll try and reduce the height as you suggest and also cut into the middle-ground trees.  And thanks for the cool green colour hint, that will be a great help.  I'll see what this looks like then.  I'm pretty sure that my painting skill level is not yet up to coping with adding a stream without it looking like an obvious patch up.

Hi Stephen ...  one more thing:  See if you can create a better shape of those middle ground trees ..  I would take your sky color and just whittle into that dark peak of trees .. then I would whittle down those distant trees so they are about 1/2 the size they are now.  For those cool highlight greens try mixing either yellow or ocher .. into .. your blue and white .. be sure to involve some darker violets (your atmosphere color) into your foreground tree darks.  Not necessary, but would be really cool .. where you have the gully .. put in a dark (cold) stream winding around and getting lost behind the left snow bank and re emerging as it twists to the right  .. wow .. that would create some interest in the foreground .. and .. provide a dark vertical balance.  Okay, just a few random thoughts ... have fun with this!!!!

Michael,  thanks for your very constructive and helpful pointers.  I'll do some more messing around on this, taking account of what you have said, and see where it leads me (painting can be such an adventure).
