Thanks Olivia, Britt, Christine and Michael. Michael, I tried just water but because of the proportions I ended up with too much reflection taking away from the cloud formation. I did shorten the land mass and I like it better. Hope you like the changes I made to values. As I looked closer at my photo for the WIP, I realized that my darkest values were darker in the photo than they actually were. Joy, I removed that red triangle.

Great looking sky Sharon!!  Here are a few things:  Try to avoid putting a small land mass parallel to the bottom of the picture ....The water all the way down would have been fine.  Even in a relatively dark painting, values must be adhered to.  Your darkest value is the banks ...then you put the same dark value in your middle ground trees and far background trees ....atmospheric perspective must still be used here.  The value shifts might not be a whole lot in this light, but it will be some.
