Also my favorite of your paintings. :)
Thanks Chris. That was one of my better plein air days. Stu
very nice painting, a little confused about the light source on the large rock compared to the smaller rock... but the water is more realistic of the Atlantic than most of our tropical waters are! You always do such a good job Stu!
Wow! Even more impressive hearing that you did it live and in one fell swoop! The colors are so fresh and clean! (Working on my own, I can see a couple of mistakes I made by seeing how you handled it... little details that only a surgeon might notice... go figure.)
Stu I like this a lot because it does not look like a copy of something I have seen you do before. Way to go lots of improvement...........YES : ))
Thanks Jim. I did it plein air and it came out better than usual for my plein air work because I did it alla prima without my usual underpainting after some encouragement from Michael Severin (he always does his plein air paintings alla prima and I have almost never done them that way in the past); it always helps to get rid of your hangups if you want to see improvement! Stu
Really nice, Stu! Lots of power in that rock! I really like the layout and the mood. (You could have done this one plein air, I'll bet...)
Thank you Mario. Stu
