Ah, I see. I only visited Sausalito and Tiburon on the eastern side.

Thanks Silvana and Betsy.  Betsy, this is not on the way to Pt. Bonita which is at the Western tip of Marin.,  You get off at the same exit from the highway, but go toward Sausalito to get there and it is at the Eastern tip of the Marin penninsula and just south of Sausalito.  It used to be Ft. Baker, an Army post and is now called Pt. Cavallo.   There is a wonderful restaurant and remodeled old army barracks that can be rented from the National Park Service.   There is a discovery museaum, a coast guard station, a fishing pier and a small boat harbor right there.  The views of San Francisco and the bridge are just spectacular and there are many places to set up an easel and paint.   Stu

Splendiferous, as usual, Stu. Lucky you living in the Bay area! Is this on the Marin County side? On the way to Pt.Bonita?
