Tried to move those back mountains back further back and bring a few small strokes of the forward plane to the back plane. Afraid to touch up anymore for fear I will ruin it. However, I would welcome feedback that I could apply to my next painting

Yes, I do know what you mean!! ...I have the same problem. ....... I always want to reach for my yellow ocher or burnt sienna, instead of mixing it ....I get lazy sometimes.

Thanks for your encouraging words. I do think I'm getting a better handle on it. Once I switched to a very limited palette like you gave in your demo I started mixing colors better. I had to hide my other paint tubes so I wouldn't be tempted:)))

Linda, I thought you originally did a great job on this .....no need for any more fussing!!! :))  Suggestion for your next painting:   Keep on doing what you are doing!! ....your improving quite nicely.
