11x14 Oil on stretched canvas I had to add some stuff here with birds and that tree in the back ground. I also wanted to punch up the red a little more to sing with the green in the background. Thank everyone for your lovely comments. :D

Thank you guys so much for the encouragement.

Mike I found that if I flick the tiniest bit of purely saturated red but the same value in one corner (on the top right side of the of the red structure)  the eye tries to blend it into the surrounding red around it giving it more luminescence. I noticed this but I'm sure its nothing new. I got all excited about it.

Im struggling at simplifying an image. Im not really good at it. Im learning but its not something that comes easy for someone that has always paid so much attention to the little details..Im hoping this will come with time.

Manneherrin, as I said earlier, you really nailed those reds ...I am saying that because  it is not easy to tint red without it being pale, lifeless, and chalky.  But I noticed that you put a lot of warmth back into your tints!! ....and that is what makes it sing in the sunshine.   Your beautiful grays surrounding the sunlit red part of the structure, really enhances the apparent saturation  ...just by the simultaneous contrast.  If your greens and blues would have been to high of saturation, then the red would not have the impact it does.  Your use of grays throughout the painting is your success story here.  Great work!! :)
