11x14 Oil on Canvas. My first time ever doing anything like this. I need help painting rocks. I have been painting off and on for 3 years...never ever took art classes as a kid. The Gamut tool was interesting but I still made some mud and got my value pots running together. I loved this exercise because it got me painting again. Thank you Richard

Nancy, Thanks so much for your comments. I 'm always up for a challenge and look forward to the next one.
Barbara, the artist who just released the rocks course is a fabulous teacher and lives reasonably close to you in Hamilton, Ontario. Do check out his website; you will not be disappointed. I am not sure that I have mastered rocks yet, but thank you for the compliment. Stu
Stu, Thanks for the comments and the info on painting rocks. Your painting is wonderful. You seemed to have mastered rocks! I will get there too!
Same with me, and I've learned so much from this workshop. I like your painting, especially your aerial perspective is great. Nice work, well done!!
Barbara, nice work with the gamut mask; you kept well within the confines of the mask. If you really want to learn to paint rocks, great downloadable 6 hr video course was just released this week by Johannes Vloothuis. Go to www.improvemypaintings.com and click on "Buy Recorded Classes" and scroll all the way down to the bottom course. Stu
I love the colour unity in this painting!! The values are nice, especially on the rocks in the foreground on the left hand side... Well done!!
Thanks for the encouraging comments Tammy. I really appreciate it.
I really like the contrasting colours and nice strong values. Great painting!
