Thanks for the encouragement Lori. I was working my way through Richard's color course and this is one of the exercises trying to see color as values. I did several B&W paintings trying to see the values. I vowed to keep painting the B&W ones until I used up all the paint I had mixed! I actually really started "getting into it" and started noticing the reflected light of the object into the cast shadow! Wow. I thought it was really a lot of fun. I built a 3 sided box and had one bright light source for some strong shadows, then I just started paying attention. It is amazing the things I was seeing when I took the time to look and look and look. Ro

I do admire your efforts! Pretty outcome as well. Why is it I never find myself working with such discipline as you show here Roena? :) Actually I should try it....
