"Rees Riverbed" 11x11" Oil on Canvas by Richard Robinson
Back again to the beautiful South Island of New Zealand with my good friend John Crump. This first day's painting was pretty successful with this little one. John ended up wiping his one off unfortunately so I can't show you that. I really like this scene so I may do a larger one of it back home. There were fantastic panorama's surrounding us but it was this abstract collection of shapes and colours that captured my imagination. Just about froze my fingertips off getting the finishing touches on this as I dabbled with it longer than usual. Something that kept going through my mind today was 'make the form, then break the form, then make the form, then ...etc', something from David Leffel I think. Very happy to be back here painting again. Good times.

Just love this painting.....wishing I could turn out something half as good!!
Nice one Richard, love the composition & your ability to capture something in what could be overlooked quite easily. You might have to distract John & take off with his painting before he wipes it off.
This is a lovely painting Richard, I like how you do the grass and the reflection in the water, great stuff!
:-) Thanks Melanie. Nice to hear that.
Richard this is awesome. I think your art just keeps getting better and better....and it was pretty darn good to start with. Someday I hope I learn how to do this. Right now I dont have a lot of hope for my landscape skills. I can't seem to see the forest, lol.
