Here's a commission I'm working on at the moment. The size is 36x64". It's based on a previous painting here: http://www.newzealandartist.com/z343.htm
It's for the main foyer of the Cancer Society. They would have purchased the 'Footsteps' painting but thought the boy in it needed a helping hand, which is what the Cancer Society does. So my Dad graciously modelled with my son for the photos and I'm really enjoying doing this because I already know how most of it will go so it lets me focus more intently on some more subtle things I've been learning about colour lately - soon to be revealed in my 'Mastering Colour' lesson. I'll be teaching a workshop on colour this coming weekend and these folks will be my guinea pigs for my colour teaching. Should be interesting.

this is fantastic!! could you please share some tips while working on this ? like how did you paint the ground, what colors did you use/mix to get that wonderful view?

hi richard, I got to notice that if we look sincerely we observed the colors of the atmosphere in the light of the shirt and of the hat
