Greetings.  I am not really into the world of blogs but have just been allowed to join as a member of this painting group.

I am 85 years old and have what is known as macular degeneration.  This has the effect of now giving me slightly distorted vision which can be both amusing and frustrating.  Things aren't always where I think they are.  This might be helpful with some of my brush strokes.

I have painted now and again during the last 40 years, just for my own satisfaction, but always getting distracted by other things.  Having recently stumbled on Richard Robinson's programmes and now having time to enjoy them I really look forward to the challenges.

I think I am on my third attempt with that boat but still enjoying it.

Hi Michael and everyone! I too am a new member ...just browsing through and getting to know all you talented people.....something about getting together with other artists!!! My 37yr old son has macular degeneration as well ...so I think you're fantastic!

Thanks for welcome.  Enjoying all the good information that Richard sends me.  I didn't join the workshop this time but have included a photo of my third attempt at the Southern Light just to remind myself to do better.  At least it has got me painting again and I look forward to seeing what the next challenge will be.
