Hi guys, spent a couple of hours making a short demo video today in preparation for the next online painting workshop and I just really enjoyed pottering around with the paints on this one so I thought I'd pop it up here on the blog because the video didn't really capture the colors as well as I would have liked (had a wee setting wrong on the camera). In the video I'm basically just showing how I paint a glowing light source going from cool gray darks to warm saturated lights in a circular fashion around the light. Nice effect eh?
Hope you're having fun. Catch you later,
Richard.

When i will be there(in paints)-Thanks a lot-for sharing,.Richard.
As a "newby" I am still investigating the site, I am off to Australia soon, NSW - I hope to keep in touch via the Internet. Looking forward to reaching the sun and painting there. I am enjoying all the painting lessons, your style of teaching (unflappable) and calming is helpful and clear Richard - exciting and motivating too - thank you !
Hi Richard - loved your 'glowing light source' - your pallette of colours was helpful on the side. The red was so subtle you had to look for the hint of it in your painting. The clever use of cool and warm colours made the simple subject sparkle.
Enjoying the course, but am rather slow in finding where to answer comments by members. Still don't know what 'Get Badge' is all about - however I'm learning lots about painting and computer!! Happy painting - Hazel

I added it to my free painting lessons emails so everyone signed up to that will eventually get the video.
I am enchanted with the light in your paintings, love the "simplicity" in this one, so perfect....Thanks for posting the video for it.
