Oil on unstretched linen. 14" x 11". Undertaken in two half days plein air end Sept 13. Blowing a gale for days we went away. For this location, we 'hid' behind (and sort of 'in') trees to paint!

Thank you Jen for your feedback. I dont take it lightly. awesome idea with the putty shaped knife. I am definitely gonna be trying that out on my pic i am working on now.. :D
Hello Mannerherrin. Firstly let me say how much I admire your artwork, and especially your 'flower bouquet'.
Thank you for your words on this one. Re the scraping back - no, I use a knife to place these on ( use a knife similar shape to putty knife). Have to be a bit careful with painting knife as tend to want to use a little bit too often.
absolutely lovely.. do you scrape back to get those little white reflection thingies?
Michael. Mmm. am taking everything on board as so so new to this outside painting. Must learn to take into account not to paint what I am looking at and interpret for a painting. Re this plein air one... ie value shapes here - can you recommend to me on this plse if poss, as to what you would do? thks
Jen, beautiful textures on the cliff .good drawing. I think you might need to address your composition? Basically, we need a visual way to get to your island and more interest by putting value shapes together.
