Don't be shy! If you have completed a painting as part of one of my MasterClass Lessons please take the opportunity to post an image of your painting and any comments in this part of the forum - just reply to this post by entering your comments in the box below and add your image by clicking on the little picture icon like this .

Since we're just starting out and there aren't many artists here I will comment on your work if I find the time somewhere. My hope is that you will all learn from each other's work in this forum - your successes and failures and encourage each other to do better. Encouragement and good advice are some of the things which keep me going so I think it's really important to get that from as many places as we can. So again, DON"T BE SHY! - we're all at different places along this creative path so we all have a unique view from where we are at the moment - 'you can only see the mountain from the valley'.

Happy painting,
Richard

Richard, thank you for positive reply! Its nice that you liked my colours, because I allways struggle with colour mixing, it's the most difficult thing for me - that's why i didn't put much attention to drawing, it's my mistake..i will definately paint a few more pictures of this beach later and i'm sure they all will be different.. i'm very glad that at last i found a good teacher (so far!!!) who can explain and draw my attention to many nuances. Im sure your wish to be world famous artist will come truу very soon because you are very talanted artist, your put a piece of your soul in your paintings.. and now you are known in Russia ))

HELLO RICHARD,

ITS SO NICE TO HAVE A PAINTING TEACHER FROM SO FAR AWAY... SEE, I'VE  LOVED PAINTING SINCE I WAS BORN, BUT I HAVE PROBLEMS KEEPING THE RULES OF PAINTING,, MY COLORS ARE TOO DARK AND I ALWAYS HAVE TO GO BACK TO  RETOUCH LIGHT VALUES, BESIDES I ALWAYS CHANGE THE PROYECT I WAS SUPPOSED TO PAINT. ... IT'S SO FRUSTATING... THE OTHER DAY, YOU TOLD ME  TO PAINT DARK OVER LIGHT AND I KEEP PAINTING IT BACKWARDS.....WELL, I GUESS THAT'S THE WAY MY BRAIN GOES... THANK SO MUCH FOR YOUR DEDICATION AND ATENTION TO SHOW US YOUR SKILLS.....

Hi Richard & friends

Here's my attempt at the masterclass lesson but taken from my local beach. Got a bit nervous putting the seagulls in at the end.

Nice one Dirk! I like it better than my one!

R.

Thanks Richard. The master class lessons have been invaluable & your work an inspiration.

This is my recent painting done in oil

"The Cascade"

13.75" x 22.5"

Here is my attempt at the Teal Bay painting from the Atmospheric Perspective lesson.  It is amazing what 3 hours of well organized instruction can do.  I have attempted painting numerous times throughout my life, but the results were far from encouraging.  After a couple of afternoons reviewing your lessons however, I approach the canvas with much more confidence and excitement.  Thank you!

Click on PHOTOS  located on the lower section of the COMPLETE ARTIST  heading, then pick all photos or my photos. You can also use the search box  ( upper left) to enter a specific name or tag- like workshop 2.  Hope this helps  Judy

Richard,

I have been looking and looking but cannot figure out how to view the paintings that have been uploaded. Are they all loaded onto one page? Please tell me where I can view them. Thanks!

Betty

This is a painting I did with Richards Lessons.

Hi Marilyn, I just completed this painting as well!!!  You did especially well with the mid and foreground water.  Your values from fore to back ground  seem a bit close....some times it is just the way the photo looks.  Your color  mixing and pallette are very good...I found that to be the hardest skill to master. I will post my painting soon...love any comments or help from the group.
