Sorry to hear you not been well. Hope you on the mend soon. Thinking of you my friend. Many thanks. :-) x0x
Hi Ann, thank you for you comment. Yes, I just learning to cut a lot of things out of the scene. I did not have the shed just below the left hand window, but my husband said it looked funny without it so I put it in. Seemed to improve it lots. So I learn't that sometimes some things have to be left in to help with the scene. :-)
Hello to Michael, Robin and Silvana. Thank you all for your lovely comments. It is so good to have some critique on it as sometimes you just don't see things that are so obvious, :-) I do appreciate your help as not sure sometimes if I'm going forward or backward. Yes, that lamp post sure seems to be getting bigger each time I look at it, hmmm, will have to keep an eye on actual size of things, oh yes, Michael, I painted over the window frames several times, I see what you mean now. Thank you Silvana and Robin. Are you still painting Robin.
Beautiful neutral palette, the simplified shapes are beautiful. Similar style to Hooper.
Love the shadows!
Wow Maria! .. I really like this painting!!! .. I agree with Jon about the lamp post .. but excellent painting! Love the luminosity in the shadows! Hey Maria, you really do not need to draw the windows so precisely .. since your painting is quite loose, the precise drawing makes them stick out to much ... temper the precise drawing a little. What I usually do is paint the windows wet into wet after blocking in the side of the building .. keeps the windows "part" of the structure.
Thank you Jon. Yes, now that I look at it, it is a bit too thick.
