No worries Micheal, Your observation was real and honest...how can we we become better artists without this type of feedback. You nailed it as far as the struggle...the easy part was translation of the movement of the seagrass in the wind. That was really fun. Happy painting to you!
Yes, I see the water! No wonder it didn't really bother me much ... my observation was more of an aside...... did not mean to take anything away from your painting. Weird how sometimes the brain can't see what is right in front of your eyes. Happy painting, Donna!
Thank you for the feedback, Michael! I would agree that the background is a bit confusing. i did struggle with this quite a bit. It is the lake on a very bright day. I tried to bump it down, but trying to keep the sparkle of the sun dancing on the surface. The original small plein aire study did not include much of the lake. Thank you again!
Very nice, Donna.! A very good sense of volume and form .. an exceptional handling of a very amorphous form. I really love your use of edges to give the illusion of air flowing through your form. Nice use of complimentary red/ green. The background sits up a wee bit ... I can't tell if it is a field of grass or a wall? Beautiful painting with wonderful visual music and poetry of the organic form moving in the slight breezes.
Thank you, Candi!
I love little nature close ups, you did a beautiful job with this grass!
Thank you Pauline!
Love this painting the feathery grasses are so realistic!
Thank you Gail! It was one of those beautiful moments on a sunny day last fall.
