We'll post them here Lori. I think all three of us are pretty pumped up about doing this workshop together. It's in a really beautiful spot. Stu

Lori, I have added a warm yellow to that because cad yellow light and alizarin crimson make very desaturated oranges; so I've cheated a bit. I'm taking a workshop in the Sierras with Frank this weekend along with Michael Severin and Laura Xu. I will be interested in how he paints the Fall colors up there with no warm red and no warm yellow on the palette (especially the aspens). I'm taking along more colors to be safe; most workshop instructors change things around on thir palettes to suit the particular locale of the workshop.

Thanks Lori, and I will think about the darks. Frank's palette is cad yellow light, yellow ochre, burnt sienna, alizarin crimson, ultramarine blue, thalo green and titanium white. Stu

BTW.. what's the Frank Serrano palette?

Hi Stu! I'm not sure I'd knock back those darks! This is terrific - reminds me a bit of Van Gogh in the deliberate brush strokes and the dark lines..just a thought!! :)

Thanks Jessica, Christine, Cristina and Michael.  Those clouds were moving away pretty fast, but I got a good look at them and wanted them in there because I had so much sky.   Michael, I misspoke on the afternoon painting, that was the bluff at Weber Point and we did not paint there.   You, Laura and I painted China Camp Village from up on the bluff where there is a clearing between the trees (I guess the white spots there are cars parked up there).   This is one scene that I had never painted before.   A little windy on the pier, but nice, warm day when the clouds dissipated; it almost always clears between 10 AM and Noon.  I will probably knock back some of my darks in this one like the other--too much thalo green and alizarin.   I guess I am still getting used to the Frank Serrano palette.   Stu

Good composition and good color.  Values are arranged very nicely.
