Currently travelling to WA in RV so set up still life on table closed all but one window for the light source. Found this nice jug in op shop at Port Lincoln $2 well spent

I really like the light on this one. The warm color ties everything together. The pear could use a bit more modeling

I feel like I have won lotto, I total agree with your points.
I do tend to use too much turps cleaning my brush in between colours (bad habit) also canvas pad used very absorbent. I wil put into practice your tips.
