oil on canvas panel 11" by 14", plein air. This is my Sunday afternoon painting out with the North Bay Plein Air Painters. I love this place because there are so many bucolic vistas. This is painted on Old Lakeville Road #3 just where it joins Lakeville Road at the North end (it's a loop of the old and the new roads). This is in the southwest corner of Sonoma County, just east of the Petaluma River where it enters the Bay. The distant blue peak that is barely darker than the blue sky to the left of the tallest phone pole is Mt. Tamalpais, the highest peak in Marin County and one of the three tallest in the SF Bay Area.

A nice feel of light and atmosphere!!
Nice layers on the hills moving away from us. I also like the white fencing contrast with the dark poles.
Gorgeous!!
Wow Stu! this is so beautiful! There are a lot of things going on in the painting and you did so well.
A beautiful painting Stu! I love your composition and the red roof buildings and lovely atmospheric perspective too.
