This is an Oil Painting. The board is size 11"x14". Colours used:Lucas Studio brand Phthalo Blue, Magenta, Permanent Orange, Gamblin Brand Perylene Red, Primary Yellow, Yellow Ochre, and Titanium White. A touch of Van Gogh Turquoise at bottom of painting to emphasize blue/green of the waer. Brushes used were filberts and a flat. I mixed phthalo blue, magenta and a touch of yellow ochre to assist in establishing values, adding to colour as required.
I primed the ground with a weak red solution and then wiped it dry before sketching the gondolar and beginning the colour process. This was a lovely subject that brought back happy memories of my own visit to Venice.

Well done.
Nicely done Gina! Your water looks great!
Thanks everyone for the critiques and the encouragement. Michael ... I'll add the warmth and re-post the painting.
Great Gina!!! Thanks for sharing all that info!
Gina, put a little warmth into the red ... give it a more prismatic effect as it goes from the yellow tip .down to the shadow.
I especially like your background buildings & sky Gina - beautiful!
Thank you Cristina
Beautiful work Gina!!
Hi Gina, viewed it full size and it seems better to me... I was talking about the left side closest to the back pole. Just looked at Richard's painting, and he is really dark at the base of the gondola, with a highlight in front of the dark. to me, your highlight looks really good! I really do like the bottom of your painting too!
