Oil on canvas panel 11" by 14" plein air. Beautiful day at a park in Santa Rosa yesterday. First time painting with North Bay Plein Air Artists; a number of friends were there. I got quite a bit more color in this one. Loved the little boats for rent and the bent tree. I found a big redwood tree to paint under, so I didn't have to get out my umbrella.

Thanks again Olivia; I'm still getting used to color mixing with it, but am quite pleased with it so far. Stu

The colour is great. You are really at home with the new palette

Thanks Jessica. I think I caught the "itness" of the place. It was a really hot sunny day and all those boats were lined up waiting to be rented. I wish my plein air skills were sufficient to pop in siome people around Tthe boats; I need to work on that. I'll have to look through my photo references and see if I can do a studio painting of the scene with a few people. Stu

Thanks Ann. That was exactly the dimension I wanted to add in the last two paintings that I posted. Stu

Thanks Michael. I am getting quite comfortable with Frank's palette after just two sessions. I guess all the recent brush miles are kicking in. Stu

Thanks Silvana, but I am not sure it is the palette.   I am just putting in a lot more color.   Only the yellows are saturated, the blue and red families are not.  I also really pumped up the lights on the sand and sparkles in the water.  Those yellow boats really catch the eye.   Stu
