My neighbor has five varieties of roses blooming now. (He is from Ukraine, and his property looks like a forest!) Last week I took photos of all of his roses, and painted this 8 x 6 from one the photos I took. I didn't take this month's workshop, just tried painting them.

Any one friends with Richard,  maybe we could mention we've been having some problems?

Hi Candi.  Great painting .... well done, my friend!!!!   Beautiful color harmony.  I love your play of warm and cools throughout the painting.  I am really admiring how you handled the foliage ....you have nice overlapping and emphasis on leaves you wanted to come forward.  Love the way you handled the lower left corner .... very vague ... not shouting out for attention ..good job on that.  I think this would have been a favorite if entered into the workshop!!  I just love the depth you created in such a small depth of field!!!! :))
