Creamer and Kumquats

Learning Points:
1. As Dory the fish from "Nemo" says....Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming... I will get it right eventually.
2. Still working on trying to see color and not "kumquat". It helped to hold one it my hand and look at it really close...standing on one foot and sticking my tongue out seemed to help too :)
3. Spot light effect...can you see it? I just blended it in.
4. Shiny creamer...I painted only what I saw...lines of dark and light, and blocks of colors.
5. I use a fast dry medium, and I learned tonight that if you take a break of more than 30 minutes, it really starts to seize up and the brush does not move over the canvas as easy...using Artisan water soluable with fast dry and thinner mix for medium. It will dry to the touch overnight usually, except for white...and dioxazine purple which I almost never use...that takes another day to dry to the touch.

really well done!! I'm loving your descriptions - great to learn from you about your thought process while painting..and I'm laughing about the image in my head of you standing on one foot!!!  I admire your stick-to-it-attitude! You're painting very well:)

I liked a lot this painting with what I call a "quiet thunder of colors". You are playing in the shadow and light with a beautiful result and a sense of colors balance and discoveries. Fantastic.........

This is really well done Pandalana!!   Your elements have good form and texture. Your observations have actually picked very subtle plane changes of color and tonal value in the kumquats!   A very nice composition also ..I might add! :)
