" A day in paradise" REVISED after John Singer Sargent

After getting some good feedback I adjusted my Rockwall and I revisited a few areas that were bothering me including greying down the back building. Does anybody else have a really hard time taking a photo of their painting?! I always have issues with glare, in this case on the right-hand side. Or the camera just drowning out the colors . 18x24 acrylic

Severin on January 24, 2017 at 11:41: Adrienne, to simplify, you need to consolidate some of those rocks into larger shapes .. your goal is to use the most minimal amount of smaller shapes shapes within the large wall shape .. if you have to count the smaller shapes, then you have to many.

Comment by Jess Paskel on January 24, 2017 at 9:46: Adrienne- I really like the adjustments you made. Greying down those areas draws the viewers eye to the boat and keeps the eye within the painting. Also i noticed your rock wall is simpler too - nice job lil sis! It was really fun doing the workshop together when i came to visit!
