12x12 oil on stretched canvas...as we celebrate the birth of Christ and enjoy this busy season...i think our painting endeavors may take a back seat....so this is my offering...and it's the fourth time i've gone back to the proverbial "drawing (painting) board"...and i still see some things that i need tro change but i have no more time. So....onward and upward and Merry Christmas one and all!!!!!

Nice job susie, like the light on the rocks.  Figure seems like should  have been smaller.  And the shadows among the rocks darker, but nice painting! Hope you had a Merry Christmas celebrating the birth of our Savior!!

Susie, nice chiseled rocks with good color variegation; figure is terrific. Deodanda's advice about lightening is excellent. Also after lightening with white, adding back in some color helps prevent the chalkiness you have in your foreground rocks. Merry Christmas. Midwest weather (I'm in Milwaukee) not too bad. Stu

I am  impressed with the figure in the painting.  Hope someday I can do as well!  Merry Christmas to you and Happy New Year.

you are so sweet to say that...but it's overworked - something that happens to me since i like to work thick - before i know it i have too much white invloved and sometimes that can be a bad thing...i may try again after christmas when i have more time and a fresh eye...

Hi Susie For someone who struggled you sure did ok Well done Since I know very little about critiquing I wouldnt presume to do so. I think it is a very pleasing painting and would hang it on my wall
