Jane, where the heck have you been?  Are you too busy for the competitions right now?  Post some of your recent work, especially the fun stuff.   Stu

Thank you Gina and Jacob for viewing my painting and commenting.  I agree art should be fun, or informative, or should make a statement.

This setup was inspired by left overs from the breakfast table at our B&B.

I am still puzzled that no one ate the oranges....  I carefully cut them to be attractive and easier to eat, but they were left on the plate.  Are oranges too lowly a fruit for our distinguished guests?

(I only added the blueberries after retrieving the plate, so no one faced the face)  :-)

Despite the comments about fun and humor that is anticipated with this work, I see it as a very serious and important commentary on life and art. I LOVE this painting. thank you so much.

Thanks everyone.  I've got two more "faces" in the works.  Hope to post soon.

Love the teaspoon idea, Richard!     :-)

Does look worried, but careful....the dish ran away with the spoon! Can you tell I now have a granddaughter!

:-) Funny, and beautifully painted to boot. Maybe a teaspoon popping in bottom left would explain the worried look some more. Wow, beautiful work.

Jane, so cute and good quality. the colour of the oranges and blueberrys and strawberry are so saturated, it makes them very juice. Kiwi colour can be greener. The plate is very realistic. I  like the colour you used for those shadows, they are very nice. If the colour of the cloth is 1 grade darker this cute face may be standout more. Great job!

Very clever and playful and exquisitely executed.
