Thanks Cheryl!  Yes, there are many inspiring places to paint here too - your paintings are lovely!

Jessica, thank you for your comments.  I appreciate them.  I've just looked through your postings and you have some lovely pieces.  I would love to do some scenes from Israel as they are very inspiring to me.  Maybe they can be my next project!  Thanks again for your kind words.

Thank you Stu and Helen for the kind words.  It was a challenge to get the mood I wanted.  I think I'll redo the highlights as Michael suggested on the top of the waves.  I hope I don't over-do or misplace them.   Have fun painting!

Thank you Michael and Jessica!  I appreciate your kind words.  As far as my doing any work with a palette knife...all I can say is...tried that...and we didn't get along.  It was like painting with a stick. I couldn't get my head around that.  I'll try it with a brush..ha!  As far as the center placement, my husband took the picture and I wanted it to be just as he had taken it.  It was quite peaceful.  Oh my gosh!  I just realized I titled it as a sunset. I"ll have to change that...he got up awfully early in the am to get that scene...better change that right now!

Very good  Cheryl!!! .... love those sunsets!!  Take a painting knife and give us some sparkle on top of the wave crests  and wet sand ... this painting will "pop" even more!!  I like the way you put the sun in the middle of the composition (breaking a so-called rule) ..... I think that perfect balance creates a peaceful mood which kind of keeps the drama in check a little?
