as suggested, I have begun to work on block studies to better understand the nuances in color shifts in and out of the light.

Will do Michael! I feel like I need to train my eyes to see more. I'm trying to ask myself if one area seems darker, more or less saturated, what color is the light-- I think that's where I struggle most. I think I have a decent handle on value but I'm missing something when it comes to seeing the colors that make up the light. Trying to remember your suggestions as I look at the blocks.. Is it cool light, warm light.. To be honest sometimes I just don't SEE it!! I will keep at it!

Nice to see you doing these Lori!! :)) .....Remember to look at what the light is doing to the color and value.

Really nice work, Lori!  I've started doing cubes too - I decided to go back to the basics & am watching Richard's "Mastering Colour" series again - do you have it?  It's very helpful.  I also find getting the hues right challenging.

I realized today I'd put this comment under my album rather than here!!!
It is difficult at times for me to see the variations in hue..i see the value shifts, but can't always determine which colors I should be using to depict it appropriately..if anyone has suggestions on how I can improve on this, please post!! I welcome any advice/critique!! thanks:)
