Thanks, Walda - I am quite pleased wth this ne myself - if I'd loosened up the brushwork it might have started to 'go somewhere'!
I hadn't seen this one before! WOW! Love it!!
Thanks, Cristina :)
Awesome!!
Yeah, too right, Lori! ;D
Hi, Ann - thanks - you're right - it is the best one of them - I was soooo pleased, and you know, dang it, looking at it now I can see loads of things I could improve - I think I'll just keep the warm glow feeling and STOP - there's no end to it!!!! ;(
Best one you have painted for this subject. The front blue boats with their dark shadow and believable shape add to the sense of mystery and interest before moving back into the painting
Thanks, guys! I felt happier about the way I was laying the paint down - drawing with the brush, and the way I was understanding light. Aurelia - good to see you back from your travels - now you can paint :) - I'm off on my travels soon!
Lovely painting Jon! It has a real nice feeling to it and I love the complementary blue and orange. You could however improve the atmospheric perspective by adding more blue to the far end of the building as well as the one on top of the hill and painting it in a higher value. Love your water and brushwork and the suggestion of windows and doors in your buildings. This painting is "alive".
Yes I am back home! Hopefully till the end of the year and now I can paint. Want to do this month’s workshop as well as I love Monet work!
