thanks a bunch Laura and Ann...That shadowed area gave me fits Ann - I wiped it a few times before getting it to look reasonable. I appreciate your encouragement.

The shadowed water fix makes all the difference. Beautiful clear cool water. I liked it before and I like it more now.

Well Lori, I liked it then and like it now!!!  I am going to look up how to paint on leather ..if I find anything, I will get back.

Thanks folks! Id originally drawn a blue line at the bottom of the black boat ..in the video Richard mentioned that boats often have a water line painted at the bottom of a boat...id chosen a color for it too close to the color of water..and an ugly bright looking color at that!! What a difference it made removing that! I had more trouble than I would have thought trying to get that boat shadow! And his suggestion about toning down the mid-waters made a huge difference-- that was less obvious to me, but I think made a really big difference in the feeling of the painting. I think it's 'calmer' looking with just those few adjustments. Sorry to go on & on.. I think I'm trying to reinforce what I've learned in my own head!! Thx for looking & commenting:))
