I's a beautiful piece! I like the colour harmony which for me, in this painting brings together the frenetic game of lines. It's not a easy subject to control. You've done it beautifully!

Thanks, Ann and Christine. Yeah it's about the depth and people!, I'm off to soften/lose the hard edges as recommended by Michael...

Love your use of broken color !  Your figures add so much to the scene, telling  story.

Wow! thanks, Michael - and that's such a useful comment about the lost and found edges - I've learned something there. Cheers!

Oh Jon ...I love your painting!!!   Beautiful warm harmony and great composition!!   I really like your gradation of value and tone on the wall and under the bridge.  Great luminous shadows!!!  Would like to see a little gradation on the road and a more lost and found type line on the grass and building edge ...something like you did over there where the road goes under the arch next to the figures ..that is a nice lost edge!!!  Anyway, great painting!!!   BTW, great use of directional lines leading to the figures. .the 2 little kids sitting under the arch gives a sense of visual poetry to your picture.
