Thank you Richard for your workshop and comments, I really appreciate the observations and helpful comments, mud is always my problem! I hadn't realised what had happened but of course now I can see very clearly. I haven't yet managed to keep my brushstrokes positive, too much dabbing I think. I love it when you can comment on everyone's painting, it is so helpful and encouraging, thanks again.
Good work Isabel. Good shapes, which is usually the first and most important part. Mostly good colour, though you've let the dark accents spread out and contaminate the shadows making them a dirty gray rather than a cleaner colourful gray. Great to see you playing with texture in the foreground.
Thank you Mark and Ana for encouraging comments, I shall have a go at those hills!
Thank you very much Diane for your encouraging and helpful comment, I shall attempt to put some sky colour into the hills. Please could you let me know where to find Richard's rule regarding figures.
Thank you Cristina, lovely comment.
You achieved a strong feeling of dusk, it's so beautiful and I like your dunes and grass representation.
Hi Isabel, nice...I agree with Diane, the light and grasses in middle ground are great ! well done.
Well done especially the dunes.I really like the treatment of the dune mid ground in your painting. lovely light and so natural. If you put more of your sky color into the background hills you would have pushed them back further. I totally can relate to the difficulty of adding figures and getting the right proportions to your scene. There is a rule which Richard has taught but I still struggle.
Just beautiful!
