Fresh off the easel, it was on my list to paint since christmas, when we had an exciting fishing trip sailing to Horuhoru rock and back. The clouds were building up and we had a rapid escape chased by the storm.

Thanks for your comments and likes, Jon Silke.

Michael I really appreciate your thoughts on how to improve it, I will have an other go on simplifying the headland.

I tried to represent the same shape as I had to squeeze it a little bit to fit into the canvas, I was more interested about the gannets nesting and flying around the rock.  Here is a reference photo I used.

Great job on the boat, sky, and water Andras. The rock  .. umm ... unfortunately, requires a little work.  You need a more better shape and need to get rid of those stripy rock striations ....  those stripes do not give the illusion of a rocky headland, and the light/dark/light dark pattern is stealing the show from the boat .. your focal point.  Just simplify the headland as one simple value mass with just a few lights ... like Richard did on his cliff.
