Thanks very much Michael for the encouraging words!  Yes - the desert at the Dead Sea is an incredibly hot place to be in the summer time - glad it came across!  Was trying to apply the lessons of the workshop & the colours & contrasts of this scene seemed to fit.

Hi Jessica ...your use of high key and predominant warm colors (offset by the cool) really gives your painting the feel of a hot and arid  summer day!!  It is one thing to inform us that it is a hot day, and another thing to actually paint it and make us believe it!!! .... great job.....you can feel the intensity of the day!!  This is another one of those paintings that I must put into my technique memory files!
