Acrylic on canvas 13 1/2" x 10 1/2". I'm currently about 400km west of where I live in a regional town called Goondiwindi. My husband and I travelled here for an art show in which I have some entries. This lagoon/dam is just a few metres from our campsite. I didn't paint it en plein air, but from a photograph that I took yesterday. The conditions were very challenging for acrylics as it's very hot and dry and the paint was drying almost instantly - no chance of blending. Still, I'm pleased I gave it a try. I'll bring oils next time!

Thank you Robin and Ann for your great comments. Yes I will let you know Robin. It's not until the end of this week.
Great greens ! The soft pinks and lavender in the water is beautiful
Thank you very much Michael. I really appreciate your detailed comments. It was very much a challenge for me and given that we are here for a week and surrounded by this beautiful scenery, I hope to do another one tomorrow. Practice, practice, practice! :-)
Very, very nice Colleen! Good composition (L type) and nice arrangement of warm and cools. I love your prismatic color in the water and your little "dancing" strokes of color on the tilted branch. Your values and edges are good ..everything seems to be working in this beautiful work....nice job. :)
