This is Laura Xu and her husband Peter Hunt at Paradise Beach Park in Marin County, California. Laura has an enthusiastic smile and is about to get started painting her first of two plein air paintings that day.

Comment by Stuart J. Gourlay on June 10, 2014 at 4:39: Linda, it's a great spot and Laura had two nice paintings from it. Peter doesn't paint, but loves art and loves to go out with Laura to paint. There was still a marine layer out on the Bay and about a 10 knot wind and Laura was a little cold in the shade of the tree; but that's what outdoor painting is all about--being out there in the elements and painting from life.
