I tried to make this more about the light than the chickens. The screen shot I was working from is a bit fuzzy, for one thing, and I tried out Cobra brand water mixable oils, which are awfully sticky and difficult (for me) to work with, so I couldn't have put in a lot of detail if I'd tried.

I just love the light/dark contrast in this painting. Very impressionistic with the soft brushwork. Maybe painting from a fuzzy reference helps, like squinting.
