Hi, Jessica. I love France - been here for more than half my life now! - more than 25 years ;D Thanks for commenting!
Looks like you are really doing justice to the beautiful French countryside! Lovely painting!
Hi, Ann. That's food for thought! Very useful - ta muchly. I sort of didn't pay attention to the right side - just neglected it completely, I didn't nytice the slope till looking at the photo of it either. I'll really have a hard look at it with those coments in mind - good thinking, you! Cheers. Jon
Hi, Sharon - yes, it's pretty accidental but I do like the composition! Thanks.
Hi, Silvana, it's certainly corn (in the European sense ;)) or barley, maybe winter corn. Thanks for commenting!.
Good start. I think you should consider a way to straighten up the composition. The left side is heavy with tree and color bands of vegetation. My eye enters the painting with the good lead in of the crop rows to the farm house but then follows the slope right off the painting to the right. Would it help to level up the field and maybe make the sienna bush on the right smaller to help pull the away from the slope to the right ? Just something you might want to consider. Love all the work on the trees that also lead back into the painting.
Looking great, love the way my eye easily enters the scene
If this is the intermediate stage, I wonder what the final stage will be.... I love the vines, and the curve the seeder has made! By the way, what kind of crop is it?
Wow, thanks, Michael! That's kind of ya'!
Jon, this is beautiful!! Looking forward to seeing the finished stage!!.
