Thanks for the comments and critique Michael. I always enjoy hearing what others think, and the suggestions for improvement are always welcome. I started running low on time and I think I got a little rushed in the end.
Hi Paul. I like your simple shapes and understatement of the colors. Your beach area is standing up like a wall. This is because it is all the same value and temp. and hard edges at the rear. Try raising the value of the beach so it is lighter then the light on the tower ..then cool this and soften the edges as it recedes to the back. Maybe a little over blending on the boats. The boats are the closest elements. To make them appear to come forward, use more thick paint and texture ...and less thick paint in the background .especially the beach.
