A little bit looser...I caught myself niggling at unnecessary details and stopped! My favourite bit is that little solo green grape : )

I like the dreaming feeling of your painting!  I really need to learn how to do this.

Dee, i've been keeping up with your work. I have studied and been observant of how you apply color.

Dee, nice painting.  If you mount this in a shadow box frame, you don't have to worry so much about your borders.  I like the colors reflected in your shadows and the translucency in your grapes and your color harmony.  And by the way, you give fabulous critiques of paintings of other artists.  Stu

Thanks everyone.

Sharon, I totally agree about the shallow border at the bottom. I'd prefer to see more space there rather than less, and it would probably have been better to use a more square format but I didn't have one handy. I knew it at the time but didn't do anything about it. That's what you get for walking over your intuition! Ha : )

Thanks for complimenting my painting, Dee... as Rose, I had to look at your paintings again, and this is so lovely, I can't find a thing I don't like about it.  Well, the only thing is the grapes might be alittle bit too close to the bottom, but maybe you cropped it like that.  I always love to see your work!  So painterly!

Hi Dee, thank you for your comments on my painting. I just had to rush right over to see yours! I understand now about using one light source, makes a HUGE difference. Nice that you used green grapes as well as purple.. you have gotten the translucent quality of them down pat! I love the bright background, it casts a lovely warm glow on the vase and pear... you did a great job with the reflected light as well! Bravo! :)
