Very nice light, but the shape of the gondola...
Hi Colin, like your nice soft palette! Especially like your water in the foreground! My only suggestion would be to more gradually change from the way you handled the background water to the foreground. Seems to me there is a distinct separation of the two right about in the middle of your painting. What do you think?

Good work Colin. I like the thick paint and your subdued color. I would like to suggest that you soften your water edge at the horizon and soften your edges along those background buildings ... that will make them recede into the distance.
I like your painting very much Colin. I think you must be a sailor, your gondola is securely moored! The light on the water is beautifully painted and the details of the buildings in the background too. There is something about the way the gondola is lying in the water that bothers me but I can't put my finger on it. Congratulations on beautiful work.
