Thank you Sharon for your comment and praise, very much appreciated.  I agree with you this gondola is a very weird shape, haven't really been able to work out why Monet sat it up like that.  I stayed with his shape as far as I could and decided it must have looked like that to him, perhaps the bow line was held too tightly and didn't allow the gondola to move when the water level changed, so the stern stayed low and the bow high, just a guess.  Let's ask Richard to do a live workshop in Venice!!

Beautiful!! I'm imagining an old movie with a mist hanging over the city - some great plot lurking in the wings!! Great atmosphere:)
