Thanks Stu - I really enjoyed this one!
This is really a great composition Annie. Your cool grays really show off the orange slices very nicely. Stu
Thanks everyone!
I just read Richard's comments again. I will never be able to do this, but I will try again in the morning........
Just had to tell you once more how beautiful your pitcher is........................dor:))
I like the way that your fruit and pitcher sit nice and solid on the table. Your fruit is luscious and the cloth is well painted. The jug looks like one made of pewter, it may be the reflection pattern. I learned from Richards comments to look carefully at the reflection and shadow patterns. Very nice painting !
Annie, I like your design and colours. I found Richard's commentary interesting because it's hard for me to see much that needs changing here on a first look and I actually quite like little abberations in a painting. I guess I'm at the beginning of a steep learning curve. Thank you for sharing your painting and helping with the learning.
Thanks Dor - I know what you mean - it all makes sense but when I come to paint next time - its hard to apply it all. I think it is like a language - you have to really learn it and practise it - it doesn't go in by just reading it through.
Hi Annie
I read Richard's comment and understand so much, but then I forget, wishing it would stay with me. I like your painting very much. Your pitcher is awesome! Smiles to you dor:))
Thankyou Richard - I really appreciate your comments - and will spend some time thinking about them and working on those things.
Thankyou you too Li Ningning - that was very sweet!
Annie, I like your painting very much. Painting is such a subtle art, so many things we have to concern and be able to do. The more I learn the more I know how much I am lack of. I am so happy that Richard take time for you to improve. I learned from his critiques also and they are very helpful. Oh, painting is so difficult ! I admire all the painters no matter what style, as they keep working hard and learnning from their errors and never stop dreaming to be better. Lovely people! Annie you are one of them.
