Still life are so....... difficult - but I suppose when learning anything new it is difficult. Just a few little parts worked - like the top of the whole orange with the section in the light and the section in shadow. Also parts of the white cloth are an improvement on my efforts in Workshop7

Julie this is great.Lovely job. I know how I battled with my still lifes.. not easy!!
Hey there Julie from over the ditch The soft pastels are lovely I had to look twice thinking maybe this was a water colour. Very pleasing gentle painting with lovely colour harmony. I also find still life very difficult but I do see the reason we have to do them It is to learn to look at , and paint, what you see and not what your mind knows!!! I am definitely looking forward to going back to landscapes.
Thanks Li for your support and comments about what has worked and what has not worked - I learn from your valuable comments.
Julie, I agree with you. I like it. the complete orange is beautiful. the two cutted ones have very good texture. But as you cut them un evenly, each part have two section. It made you feel difficult to contral the value of them. I like your grapes. the colour is much better than mine. If you let the steme lye down and let those grapes rest above their steme, it would make them look more relaxed. Julie, you did good job. Richard said still life can help our landscape.
