Well,I followed all of your advices and suggestions. It's a horrible, dark, rainy and cold Saturday. I have attempted this one for the last time. Didn't include clouds... but here it is! I obtained some courage, prepared a new mixture, painted as a billionaire... and I hope you still consider it catching!!!! This is the best pic I could take, given the actual environmental conditions...!

Lol...one of my issues is never mixing enough paint, then trying to recreate a color..when I remember I jot down 'color notes'..but do I usually remember?!! Nope!!

No courage needed. The good news is that it is PAINT. You can always paint over it. ..

Sylvania,  try ... blue + white ... add Alizirin crimson and yellow.  Make the value a little darker then the darkest value of your road in sunlight.  Where the shadows cross the dirt, warm it a little.  The color of the shadows will be a darker version of the color it is sitting on plus atmosphere color and any reflections that might be sneaking in there.

Thank you very much Dor, Lori and Robin! I haven't painted anything since this one... I'm still wondering how to follow Anne's and Michael's advice to lighten that shadow... without ruining it... it's wonderful how the colours naturally form on my palette, but there is such a mixture when I finish a painting that I am unable to find the ones I have used!!! LOL, Mixing ONE specific colour is a whole challenge when correcting sth!!!!

I hadn't seen this before Sylvana - the colours are beautiful and the painting so well composed - it brightens my day.
