11x14 oil on canvas panel..i noticed a few things in my first try that needed to change...the pear in back was too tall and also too symetrical - i also worked a bit on the cloth to insure that there was more grey than white - i still may have to go back into it - but it's time to hang it up for the day.... something interesting and fun: my hubby who is my cook and best critic said..."i like that...those aren't just pears..you're getting a lot of complexity"...can you believe it??

Susie, nice rework to a stronger painting. Your pears, like mine, are much better looking this month than last. Stu
thanks everyone!
I love the vitality you've achieved with your paint texture and brushstrokes...and I like the jug a lot!
Hi Susie. There is definately a feeling of liveness like Ann said. I attracted to the richness of oil that was applied to the canvass. Something that i need to do more often. Good Job!
thanks for your comments everyone - looking at this now - i still see some things to attend to - i am so "in love" with texture - sometimes i get carried away - i tried maroger medium for the first time and i'm thinking it may be fairly dry today so not sure what i can do about smoothing out the jug..we'll see...but, again, thanks!!
The changes you have made a great - I like how you have simplified the front of the cloth that falls over the edge.
Beautiful painting......the table cloth caught my eye, it is so realistic.......smiles coming your way......dor:))
Nice paint texture and strokes, I also like the orange in the pears it makes them come alive. I like the tall pear change because it keeps your eye in the painting the pointy one pointed out. Now he pulls your eye toward the highlight on the jug. I enjoy the feeling of life that you paint.
I also agree with Diane. Perhaps make the jug's shadow transition a bit more gradual/smoother?
I like the changes you've made Susie!
