Thank you Glenys! I have a very long way to go until I can achieve what you have. I am on the path though.
I love the fluidity which flows throughout, great colour harmony.
Yes it is, and it affects and even changes your whole life and way of thinking to a certain degree. I am trying to find my visual voice, too and try different things. It is not easy and I did not produce much, that has a chance to make it into a frame and on the wall ;-), but, well, I think one has to accept that the journey is the most important... Am looking forward to your next one.
Thank you all for the nice comments. I had fun doing this and I am about to do another one to play around with the looseness a little more. I had asked the question on another forum on how does one find their style and I am beginning to think it is whatever brings you the most joy and your personality connects with. It may not work for every scene and then I guess you adjust. I guess you keep trying different things until you find that connection or vehicle for expression. Painting is such an interesting journey.
Nice!
Very beautiful and loose little sketch!
This is beautiful Kevin. I love the looseness and I think you have painted the rocks beautifully, I am struggling with rocks at the moment!
Thank you Michael. I am headed back to this area soon because there were more opportunities working with this little stream and some of the falls.
However, it is supposed to rain for the next 3 or 4 days so it may be a good time to catch up on some VAA stuff. :)
Kevin, I think you have captured the "itness" of this place very well!!! I can sense that nice mixture of warm and cool light as it is filtering through the trees. Great design leading you up to the falls .your focal point. This is a very handsome painting my friend!!
Have a quick break over lunch to post another plein air attempt. I am still playing around with a more loose approach but not very confident with it. I was at this small stream in the local woods and loved the feeling of being in this little pocket of respite. Not much light getting to the spot which made it kind of neat. Anyway. don't have time to type more at the moment.
