Jim, Michael, Peter, Colleen and Mario, great comments and critiques - thank you all. I have adjusted the tonal balance of the roses - I was concerned more with give an impression and didn't address enough that balance, which supports the impression.

Wonderful loose brushwork, very abstract, I like it... I will try.

Michael, a beautiful painting!!  You have a very lively style ..loose brushwork, abstract qualities, and strong value contrasts.  I agree with Jim in that your have a DOMINANCE  of soft edges ...everything is out of focus.  Your dominance of soft edges is fine, but in order to maintain UNITY in your painting and to make your dominance relevant, you must  have a CONTRAST to that dominance. .....somewhere.  You kind of do that with the one rose in the front ..but not enough .  One more thing Michael.  That little triangle of light at the bottom of your vase  ....which is the negative space of your stems, is too bright and not a good shape ...really stands out too much.

This nice -- the colors and values work really nicely.   Your brushwork is terrific!

Next time try making one or two of the flowers and part of the vase slightly more "in focus" with just a touch of added detail --  in focus a bit more.  I saw this in another painting like this, and it really created depth and a drew my eyes into that part of the piece.
